Electrician

An electrician is someone who works with electricity. They help set up and fix electrical systems in buildings, like lights, power outlets, and electrical wires. If something stops working, like your lights going out or a plug not working, an electrician can find out why and fix it. They also make sure everything is safe and working properly.

What tools do you use to do your job?

Electricians use special tools to help them with their job. Some of the most common tools are pliers (for cutting and twisting wires), screwdrivers (for screwing things into place), wire cutters (for cutting wires), and testers (to make sure electricity is flowing the right way). They also use a big, thick glove to protect themselves from getting shocked.

What makes a good electrician?

A good electrician is someone who is careful and pays attention to details. They need to be good at solving problems because sometimes things can be tricky to fix. It’s also important to be strong, since electricians sometimes have to lift heavy things. Being safe is super important too, because working with electricity can be dangerous!

What do you do each day?

Each day, an electrician might start by going to a construction site or a house. They will check the plans to see where the electrical wires and outlets need to go. Then, they will install wires and connect them to lights, plugs, and other electrical devices. If something isn’t working right, they might have to take things apart and fix the problem. They also spend time making sure everything is safe and up to code, which means following the rules to make sure everything works properly and isn’t dangerous.
