Buyer
A Buyer is someone who helps a company buy the things it needs to build or make something. For example, if a company is building a new building, the Buyer will find and purchase the materials, like bricks, cement, or wood. They make sure the company gets the best items at the right price.
What tools do you use to do your job?
A Buyer doesn’t need a lot of tools like a builder does, but they do need a computer to look for the best prices and make orders. They also use phones to talk to suppliers, and sometimes they write notes or make lists in a notebook to keep track of what they need to buy. They need to know how to use email and maybe even special computer programs that help them keep everything organized.
What makes a good Buyer?
A good Buyer is good at talking to people and knowing what a company needs. They need to be very organized and able to keep track of many things at once, like different orders or prices. It helps to be good with numbers so they can figure out if the price is right. Being careful and paying attention to details is also important because they have to make sure everything is bought correctly!
What do you do each day?
Each day, a Buyer spends time looking for the best deals. They might talk to people who sell materials or products, ask about prices, and compare different offers. Sometimes, they’ll make a list of what needs to be bought for the day or week and send out orders. They also spend time checking that everything they ordered is coming on time and that it’s the right quality. They might also meet with other people in the company to talk about what needs to be bought next.
