Floor Layer
A Floor Layer is a person who puts down new floors in homes, schools, shops, and offices. They make sure the floor is flat, smooth, and looks great. Floor layers work with things like carpet, wood, vinyl, or tiles to create a floor people can walk on comfortably and safely.
What tools do you use to do your job?
Floor layers use lots of helpful tools, such as:

- Hammers and nail guns for wooden floors
- Trowels to spread glue smoothly
What makes a good Floor Layer?
A good floor layer needs to:

- Have good maths skills to measure and cut correctly
- Be strong and fit, because the job involves lifting heavy rolls and kneeling down a lot
- Enjoy working with their hands and tools
- Be able to solve problems, like fixing bumps or gaps in the floor

Each day, a floor layer:

- Cleans and prepares the surface
- Measures and cuts the floor materials
- Lays down the flooring carefully and sticks it in place
